Accommodation

In the city, at a local person’s house, a flat or house share, at university halls of residence… There are several accommodation solutions for young students in Troyes. There is a type of accommodation to suit every budget.

The Comtes de Champagne Campus

Located right in the city centre, close to aint Pierre-Saint Paul’s cathedral, the Comtes de Champagne Campus has been open to students since the new academic year in 2008. The Comtes de Champagne campus is an addition to the existing facilities at the Technopole site, close to the Technological University of Troyes (UTT). It provides easy daily access to the neighbouring higher education establishments of Troyes University Centre, the ESAA and IUMP, as well as those further away like the IUT, UTT or ESC. The campus offers 47 student accommodation units, including four specially designed for people with reduced mobility, and a university restaurant, Le Bouchon de Champagne, capable of serving 300 meals per day.

The offices of the CROUS, the Vie Etudiante services, and the headquarters of the various student associations and Radio Campus are grouped together in one place at the Maison des Etudiants, in order to create a lifestyle space that enables students to have access to various student services. There is also a sports complex for practising most team sports.

Other university residences

The CROUS in Reims Champagne-Ardenne can allocate various types of accommodation to students. Rooms in halls of residence, studio residences or council housing are available, with specific conditions and rates for each form of accommodation, whether you receive a grant or not.

Accommodation is distributed across the city, either near to the university campuses and restaurants, or in districts that are well served by urban public transport. However, you can also consult the city accommodation service, which keeps a list of accommodation to let from private landlords.

To apply for accommodation such as a room in halls of residence, a studio residence or a council flat, you must put together a student accommodation and grant application (Dossier Social Etudiant or DSE).

Student accommodation in the private sector

There are many accommodation options in the city for students in Troyes and the urban area: at a private home, in a flat or house share or a traditional rented property.

You will find vacant accommodation in the communal database of the Maison des Etudiants, and the Troyes CROUS, in free local newspapers, in the regional daily press (l’Est Eclair, Libération Champagne…), estate agents, and on the internet via specialist websites  (www.entreparticuliers.com, www.pap.fr, www.paruvendu.fr...).

Housing aid

There are various aid schemes available for students to help them pay their rent, an expenditure that takes up a large part of an already tight budget!
