How to reach the urban area

By road

In the south of the Champagne-Ardenne Region, at the heart of southern Champagne and the department of Aube, the Troyes urban area stands 130 km south-east of Paris. It is easy to reach by road from:

  • The north of France via Calais, Lille and Reims, on motorway A26

  • Paris and its region via the A5 and RN19

  • The south of the country via Lyon and Dijon, on the A31, A5 and RN71

The capital is at less than two hours’ drive from the Troyes urban area.

By public transport

NEW: Plan your journey by public transport to or from the Troyes urban area at the new VITICI mobility centre.

It only takes 90 minutes to travel between the Gare de l’Est and Gare de Troyes stations by rail. The latter is ideally located just a stone’s throw from the historic centre, and offers 15 return journeys per day, departing from or arriving in Paris, Culmont-Chalindrey, Belfort and Mulhouse.

Public transport in the Troyes urban area

TCAT public transport: a concentrated, high-quality network to help you travel around the Troyes urban area

The TCAT runs public transport in the Troyes urban area, the authority that organises transport in the area of urban transport. Its network serves the 14 communes of the urban area as well as several routes outside its borders.

To benefit, you just need to be registered at a school or higher education establishment in the Troyes urban area, and arrive at the Station with:

  • 2 recent identity photos

  • an identity document

  • a student card or certificate of registration

CROCO: unlimited journeys for 30 days for €35

AMPHI: up to 45 journeys for 30 days for €28

(this is equivalent to 2 journeys per day, 5 journeys per week, ideal for day boarders)
